This is my macro landscape. I painted it using temper paints. This project really forced me to focus on value, as it is essential to create different values of one color to create highlights and shading, in order to create a realistic image. I really enjoyed doing this project, as I really improved on the skill of creating correct colors, as color is essential in making a painting which was intended to depict something seemingly realistic.
These are my linoleum block prints. These prints were inspired and meant to be a recreation of a photo of the large rock at Ruby Beach. I was able to learn how to use reduction printing a precision in lining up the blocks correctly. I would say that the main art element that was used was lines, considering that I had to carve out many of them in order to create the image of the clouds along with the illusion of shading. I find this project and skill useful and interesting due to the fact that block printing is an interesting way to recreate photographs.
This was my first choice project: Stegan and Mefan, a face swap of my two friends, Megan and Stefan. In this project, I used pencils with lead of different densities to make realistic shading and blending more doable. I would say that lines were a very important element in this piece, in combination with value. Lines really helped create a realistic texture, while working with darker grey values to create shading, really helped create a realistic image. This project helped me build upon my pr
This is my spirit animal painting, the animal is a panther with a background of the moon. This project was made using ink and water colors. In this project, I focused on value, by creating darker and lighter values with lines, as well ass different values of blue in the moon to create texture. In this project, I learned how to create values of black by using lines rather than shading, which is not something I had done much of before.
